Oh what a Charlie Foxtrot

A Charlie Foxtrot doesn’t really even begin to describe what this PHP upgrade has been on my sites. It really has been a true clusterfuck.

If there is 1 small silver lining to this colossal pain in my ass, it’s that only my own sites are effected. The subdomains that I host for others, as well as myself, seem to be more or less OK. However, all of this has led to me having to take both my website and blog offline while I try to fix things.

At first I put an ad on WP job board and poured through what seemed like hundreds of applicants to find a WP developer to assist me. All this at the advice of my hosting company. When that person quit–without charging me anything despite all the work they put in with zero to show for it–I was once again left holding the bag. Sigh…

I am going to try and put up a series of articles of what went sideways so that might in the future be able to look back on this cluster fuck and learn from it.

As it is now, my .info sites are still in maintenance mode, and I still need to figure out how to deal with them. On the plus side, I have been able to get some much-needed work done on other peoples’ sites that is long overdue. Sigh…

I hate technology. I hate computers. I hate all of this stuff. It is taking away from the joy of playing sax, which is really my first love.

That all said, tech and computers are how we interact with the world around us these days. It is indeed a double edged sword. What a clusterfuck!
