I know I had to change the comment attachment plugin, since the one I used before was abandoned. The old one was specifically for pics IIRC.
The new one I use now is for more kinds of files. However, a funny thing happened when I went to upload an image to my comment in reply to Resucie Annie. When I uploaded the pic, only a link to the pic appeared. In order for the photo to appear in the comment, I had to edit the comment and copy the URL from the server into the comment. I then left the original link–which appears as a red link–just so that I could see what was going on.
I am going to try this again and see what happens. I suspect this has to do with the variety of files that this plugin can handle, but let’s give it a try.
OK, so this is a test of a comment with a pic. Attached a .png file of the circus tent
WTF? Now it is showing… Sigh…
Ah, I think I see the problem now. It was a Chrome thing. I am still not used to Chrome on my new laptop. It saved the image as an html file, despite me having it open on a seperate page. Huh…
I saved the original Actar image in Paint as a .jpeg and it should work fine now…
Nope. No it did not… It also didn’t save the linky… Weird… I’m going to try again in case I fucked up.
Actar .jpeg take 2
Nope. Definitely not working…. Huh… Let’s see if I can add it from the back end…
Nope. I cannot. This is the message I got: “Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type.”
So I guess converting an HTML doc to .jpeg in Paint does not generate a true .jpeg
A conventional .jpeg works, right?
